We are a grassroots group of San Diego residents dedicated to preserving our residential neighborhoods for long-term residential use.
Barbara Bry has lived in San Diego for more than 40 years, raised her family here, founded many successful San Diego based businesses, and served on the San Diego City Council.
Barbara was an early advocate for regulating short-term vacation rentals due to the negative impacts she saw in communities throughout the city. She and her husband reside in La Jolla.
Barbara co-founded Housing for San Diegans so that future generations can continue to afford to live in San Diego.
Cynara Velazquez is a political consultant and data analyst who has lived in San Diego for over 20 years. In 2005, when she first arrived in San Diego, she rented a room in La Jolla for $300 a month. She and her husband were fortunate to buy their Ocean Beach home before the short term rental boom caused housing prices to sky rocket in their community.
Cynara co-founded Housing for San Diegans so that her neighborhood and communities all over the city can continue to be accessible to her friends and peers.
